The ACT Aspire is a 4.5 to 5 hour online criterion-referenced assessment. This will be the fifth year that Arkansas has given the Aspire test. Parents will receive score reports which will provide information regarding each student’s individual progress over the last two years.
All students in Grades 3-10 are required to take the ACT Aspire Test for the 2020-21 school year. The subject areas that will be tested are Reading, Writing, English, Math, and Science.
When will my child test?
All students, whether virtual or in-person will need to test on the Viola Public School’s campus. Virtual student’s parents should have received a letter stating the date and the time that their student must be at school to test. Here is the general testing schedule:
Virtual Students:
April 6-14 – All Grade Levels
In-Person Students:
April 21-22 – All 8th, 9th, and 10th Grade Students
April 28-29 – All 3rd, 4th, and 7th Grade Students
May 5-6 – All 5th and 6th Grade Students
What is the purpose of the ACT Aspire tests?
While state tests are not the only measurement used to determine how your child is doing, it does enable educators to compare how students are progressing over time. This helps informs teachers on how to develop plans regarding student growth and learning loss, and the impact COVID has had on student learning.
