This past weekend, 13 FCCLA members turned into zombies for a fun-filled ‘Zombie Fun Run’ hosted by Lucky Dawg Rescue, an organization supporting unhoused animals in Arkansas' Ozarks region. With ragged clothing and spooky makeup, the members attending chased after runners, trying to grab their flags–in a flag football style. The students’ enthusiastic performances were full of excitement and laughter. All proceeds from the Zombie Fun Run held at Arkansas State University-Mountain Home went directly to the Lucky Dawg Rescue. This organization based out of Mountain Home, helps provide basic needs for homeless dogs and cats and transport to no-kill shelters and states. The event brought together the community and dog lovers alike. Through this event, FCCLA members also developed leadership and teamwork skills, making the experience both fun and valuable.
Kallie Riggs and Isabelle Richardson will be using this chapter service project to compete in STAR Events in November.
