A group of 10th and 11th-grade girls from Mrs. Walker’s class undertook a landscape project outside the school cafeteria.
Students selected plants for all four seasons, blooming in spring, summer and fall including evergreens for winter.
The area, once overgrown, had become a blank canvas following the recent HVAC installation for the gymnasium. Students shopped for plants, prepared the ground, planted each flower and shrub, mulched the area and carefully laid landscape blocks to create a border.
Their hard work did not go unnoticed by staff and students. Many commented on how beautiful the area now looks. The group is very proud of what they’ve accomplished together and it will always be a great memory for them.
